“We don’t have a clear leader who has gotten up and said, “I am willing to speak for you guys.” The only person, and you might not believe this, the only person that stood up, wanted to stand up, and they sent him out, was Colin Kaepernick. He’s the only one that said, “I’m going to do something about it, I’m done talking.” Because all we do is talk. Jesse Jackson, all these people, in this country whenever something happens, people get up, talk about it, make some noise, and two days later everybody goes back to their little hole and nothing is done. Dialogue doesn’t do anything. It’s not me. I’m not interested in dialogue. We’ve done enough talking. I’ve been here 42 years, and all we’ve done is talk. Dialogue isn’t getting us anywhere. We need a seat at the table, and let’s talk. Nobody has invited us to a seat at the table. No one has said, “Based on all the talk you made, I’m putting together a task force at the White House, and we’re going to sit, and here’s the things we are not going to tolerate.” If you really want to go deep. You need to drill down. Peel off all the fat. Give us the bare bones. Right now, it’s just fat. And fat doesn’t do anything. I’ve got a story, one day I was walking around driving my nice car and someone asked me if that car belonged to me. I have thousands of them. I was speaking at a conference of more than 4,000 people, packed, in this beautiful hotel. My cardboard picture was sitting in the middle of the hotel. I’m the closing speaker. It’s my cardboard picture, me, standing there, all 5’8” of it. I’m in this $2,000 Armani suite. And what does a white guy come up. I’m standing there literally in line, waiting in the same line with him to check in. I’m thinking I’m incognito. What does he do, he takes his clothing, in that thing, wheels it towards me. Goes through the whole line. What did he do, come up to me with his clothes and bags and said, “Can you put this in my room.” I’m looking at him and I’m thinking it’s a joke. My whole body left me, like I was in suspense. I’m looking at this guy, I couldn’t even come up with words. Did he really do what I just think he did, in front of all of these white people, and half of them know it’s me. And yet he’s going to have to come and prove his point, ‘That you are still just a N%#@*r to me, take this to my room.’ We need leaders. We need a seat at the table. Because everyone else is just making noise.”
